The inspiration for this piece comes from the next day after a rain. They sky tends away from low-chroma translucence and briefly shines in creamy opaque tones.
It was painted on location, en plein air, at Thousand Steps Beach in sunny Santa Barbara, and touched up briefly in the studio.
