I stood in the rain to make this painting!
On a gray morning in Ojai, CA, I woke up at dawn and drove to a trailhead overlooking the valley.
After a brief trek through the mud, our painting group found this little spot, overlooking a barn and some orchards.
We fixated on it because, despite the lack of direct light (a painter's dream), there was enough light refracting through the clouds to light up this yellow-gold hay field.
